Occupy Maine goes musical today

The Occupy Maine group in Portland, which we’ve carried stories about on a couple of occasions (Oct. 4 and Oct. 7, prominently), is holding a march and musical performances today in an event they’re calling “Rockupy Maine.”

The march is scheduled to start at 10 a.m., and go from out in front of the Portland Public Library to Congress Square.

Music follows at 11 a.m., with Stream Reggae, then 1 p.m. with Dead Trend. DJ Psydways and MC Pensive take over music duties from 1:30 p.m. until about 3 p.m., when a rally is slated to be held featuring University of Southern Maine economics professor Michael Hillard.

The Jason Unterreiner-led Wood Burning Cat is scheduled to wrap things up with music starting at 4 p.m.
