Trio leading search for new Portland superintendent

Portland School Board members Sarah Thompson, Ed Bryan and Jaimey Caron (pictured below in that order) have been chosen by the larger board to serve as a new ad hoc committee to oversee the search for a superintendent to replace the outgoing James Morse.

Thompson serves as chairwoman of the new committee, which according to a recent Portland Public Schools announcement is now “developing a work plan, proposed budget and time line, with the goal of hiring a new superintendent by June.”

The committee is next scheduled to meet on Thursday at 5 p.m., when the members are expected to discuss the scope of work they may ask a consultant to assist with.
