Tonight at Portland Arts and Technology High School (PATHS), student fashions will be on display in a special show to raise money for the Scarborough-based Partners for World Health, an organization which sends health care volunteers and medical supplies to third world countries.

The fashion show starts at 6:30 p.m., tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students.

The unique fashion marketing program at PATHS received a $450 grant from Painting for a Purpose to boost its efforts to help Partners for World Health. Here’s a little bit more on the program and fashion show as provided by Portland Public Schools:

PATHS students created tote bags, pillows and animals out of blue wrap that will be sold as a fundraiser for Partners for World Health. Students also have made blue wrap dresses that will be featured in the show.

Erin Ovalle, WMTW morning anchor, will be the commentator for the fashion show. In addition to the blue wrap creations, the show will feature garments made from silk that the students painted by hand, remade prom gowns and other original student fashions.

Refreshments will be served.  There will be 30 items for sale at a silent auction, including gift certificates to spas and hotels.

The PATHS fashion marketing program has had a year-long collaboration with Portland-based designer Angela Adams and her public relations and visual merchandising director, Nanette Taner. Both Adams and Taner worked with students on fashions for a blue wrap tableau in the show.
