For those of you who drive down that far, be aware that state transportation workers will be replacing the overhead signs at Exits 1 and 2 on the turnpike. Here’s the Maine Department of Transportation announcement:

Crews will be replacing overhead guide signs on I-95 at Exit 1 on Thursday, May 17th starting at 8 p.m. until after midnight. Exit 1 will be closed until the work, which involves two overhead signs, is completed.

Message signs will alert motorists to the closure, allowing for alternative routes.

Crews will return on Monday, May 21st to replace an overhead sign at Exit 2 starting at 8 p.m. Replacement of this sign will require the closure of Exit 2 while the work is being performed. Again, message signs will be deployed to alert motorists of that closure.
