This shouldn’t shock anyone who has used Interstate 295 through Portland at any point in the last couple years, but just so you can plan your commute, here’s the latest coming in from the Maine Department of Transportation:
A steel bridge joint has broken loose on the Presumscot River Bridge on the Portland-Falmouth town line at mile marker nine. MaineDOT crews will be reducing traffic over the bridge to one lane beginning at 3 p.m. as repair work begins. Crews will be replacing the steel joint and surrounding concrete. Crews anticipate traffic will be back open to two lanes around midnight tonight.
