Last chance for tickets to see Mumford & Sons, Dropkick Murphys is Thursday night

The first batch of tickets to the highly anticipated Mumford & Sons show was sold out in less than an hour. A second batch of 3,000 was then made available a few weeks later, first just to folks who could get to Portland box offices, then online to the masses. By the time the Dropkick Murphys announced they’d be joining Mumford & Sons in the exclusive Aug. 4 festival on the Eastern Promenade, the word was that the second batch was all gone.

Local Circus

Well, all along, the organization Friends of the Eastern Promenade, which is a beneficiary of the upcoming festival, has been raffling of a limited number of tickets to the big event at its weekly Thursday concerts. The last such chance to buy raffle tickets, and likely then the last such chance to get tickets to Mumford & Sons on Saturday if you don’t already have them, is this Thursday night’s show featuring the bluegrass-folk band Local Circus.

Raffle tickets are $10 each or three for $25, and Friends organizers aren’t carrying credit card machines around with them, so bring cash or checks. As is the case every Thursday, the Fort Allen Park Summer Concert Series show takes place at the Fort Allen Park bandstand and starts at 7 p.m.

Feel free to bring along a little extra money for a burrito or taco sold on site by Hella Good Tacos.

The sponsors for this Thursday’s show are The State Theatre, which is the local promoter behind Saturday’s Mumford & Sons tour stop, and Betty Winterhalder.
