Here’s lookin’ at you.
This afternoon, I asked for readers of the BDN, this blog and my Twitter feed to send me pictures from the Mumford & Sons’ Gentlemen of the Road Festival, and you did — thank you very much! I try my hardest when covering these types of events to capture everything, but nothing quite shows the fan experience like fans themselves (and admittedly, I snuck a couple of my own pictures into this gallery).
So here’s what you and I all saw on the Eastern Promenade today during the big seven-hour concert.

Mumford & Sons band member Ted Dwane poses for a picture with Kristie Hawkins and Joey DiMillo on the Eastern Promenade before the festival got underway.
-
-
Colleen Jordan sent this shot in of her 16-year-old daughter and friend posing with fake moustaches — the theme of the Gentlemen show.
-
-
This one was the first submission I got after sending out my request, and really got the ball rolling. Thanks to Mike Sullivan!
-
-
Here was another Twitter submission from Ed Warren, illustrating the boats off the Eastern Prom moving in for a listen to the live music.

OK, so there are a couple of these I snuck in myself… I saw the cute baby and couldn’t help myself. There’s father Glenn Greenstein, mother Rebecca Cague and little 10-month-old Liam Greenstein. Thanks for letting me intrude on your family time, guys — looks like you were having fun!

Joey DiMillo and Kristie Hawkins posed for another one of the pics I took — it was great meeting them, because as it turns out, they’d met the band earlier and had a really great story to tell. You can see these two ladies with band members in two other pics in this gallery.

One in a string of great shots sent my way by Justin Russell…

Another in a great series of pics sent in by Justin Russell (wait, there will be more)…
-
-
And a third Justin Russell shot…

A fourth Justin Russell masterpiece and…

-
Justin Russell’s topper. Justin definitely wins as the most prolific contributor to this gallery, and for that, I’m forever indebted. Thanks Justin!

-
I stole this one from Lauren Horn’s Twitter feed after we traded Tweets about swapping pics from tonight’s show. Here’s Marcus Mumford playing drums while singing — multi-talented fellow, he is.
-
-
Joey DiMillo (left) and Kristie Hawkins are back in this pic taken with Country Winston Marshall of Mumford & Sons. The ladies met band members on the Eastern Prom earlier in the day Saturday, and said when they asked for a pic, the guys said “Cheerio!” and posed away happily.

Here’s a beautifully colorful shot sent my way via Twitter by John Olore. Thanks John! It wasn’t too late at all!
-
-
Old friend John Ripley let me have this shot from the Dropkick Murphys latenight follow-up over at The State Theatre. It’s always good to cross paths in the cyberverse with John.

A nice close-up of the guys in the band sent in by Nicole McLernan, who vaulted into a tie with Justin Russell in the race for the most pics submitted to this gallery. Awesome work, Nicole — thanks so much!
-
-
Nicole McLernan sent in this pic, too — even the fence was getting in on the moustache craze.
-
-
And the third pic from Nicole, this time of some folks tapping into the Capt. Eli’s…
-
-
No. 4 from Nicole catches the entryway to the Eastern Promenade concert grounds…
-
-
And there’s No. 5 from Nicole McLernan. Thanks again!

-
This one came in from Meg Fellis, who attended the show with her boys Orion and Thomas — pictured here, I think, are niece Kaya and friend Roz. Thanks for sending this in Meg!
-
-
Love the fun moustaches! This picture was sent in by Ceriese Fennimore. Great work getting into the theme!
-
-
Lesley Keller got a ton of great pics from the show — among the best I’ve seen anywhere. I picked seven from her online photo album to pass along in this blog, and this is one.
-
-
Lesley Keller gets a closeup shot of Marcus Mumford himself. Thanks again, Lesley.
-
-
In this Lesley Keller pic, Mumford & Sons accordion player Ben Lovett plays and sings. Great stage color here.
-
-
Lesley has provided me with one of my only shots thus far of the bands leading into the headlining set by Mumford & Sons — this one gives us a look at Apache Relay, who won over a lot of fans Saturday.
-
-
Here’s a pic sent in by Dianne Grade, who like a lot of people on the Eastern Prom, caught the show from a balcony or other second floor view outside the fence. Nice perspective, Dianne — I was wondering what the scene looked like from up there.
-
-
Dawes, one of eight acts to take the stage during the festival, is captured here by Lesley.
-
-
Another of the seven great pics I grabbed from Lesley Keller’s batch. Lesley dominated the camera at this show.
-
-
Mumford & Sons chats it up with the crowd here in another one of Lesley’s great shots.
-
-
And the fireworks! Thanks for capturing those, Lesley!
